The peace and good energy you feel while at Casa Violeta is indescribable.
This place is the clear example of simpleness filled with value and small meaningful details.
The restaurant though a bit overpriced, has some of the most beautiful views and is the perfect spot to have lunch, margaritas, breakfast or even sit down to relax while answering morning emails.
It is truly a magical place to stay and the perfect getaway for your mind, body and soul.
At some point of our stay, Karla Gutierrez, the unique and beautiful owner of Casa Violeta, held a very special ceremony that you will be able to somehow enjoy through images below.
This type of sacred ceremony is called Temazcal.
Temazcal is a Mayan word meaning “medicinal house,” and it was process used by the Mexican Aztecs, Mayans and Native Americans in powerful healing rituals. The technique includes using hot volcanic rocks soaked with healing waters to create a steam bath/sweat lodge atmosphere. This ancient process cleanses the body, mind and spirit. The entire ceremony is accompanied by sounds of ancient musical instruments, such as drums and the digeriedoo, a Native American flute.
